On Monday, August 9, 2010 Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz, Chairman of the New

Clergy Organization held a prayerful and peaceful demonstration of
solidarity against the racial abuse of Mexicans and immigrants in

Crespo, Community Activist Tony Herbert, Ms. Carolina Ayala - the Chief
of Staff for the Mexican Consul General's office, and a representative
from Governor David Paterson's office. The group declared their outrage
of the racial abuse against Mexicans and immigrants.
Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Seeks Social Justice
July 22, 2010 Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr. was joined by Senator Pedro
Espada at a press conference to raise public awareness and announce
$10,000 reward would be offered for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of the individual responsible for the rape and beating
of a 79-year-old woman in the elevator of her Westchester Square
On August 29, 2010, Senator Rev Diaz praised the NYPD's efforts to find and arrest the rapist.
